R3 integrative health now utilizes LiteCure‘s LightForce EX Class IV Deep-Tissue Therapy Laser as a powerful new tool to address pain and injury.

Through a combination of laser science, engineering, and physics, deep-tissue laser therapy can be an effective, non-invasive technique to address dysfunctional or damaged tissue. Pain and inflammation are reduced and recovery times for both chronic and acute conditions are accelerated.

The primary appeal of this therapy is that it can often eliminate the need for pharmaceutical treatment (drugs) and even surgery. Many issues that are frequently treated on an operating table and with heavy medications can now be treated from above the surface of the skin.

Approved by the FDA in 2003 as a safe and acceptable method to treat chronic dysfunction and acute injury, deep tissue laser therapy has become a standard treatment for a variety of musculoskeletal injuries.

Widely used in the world of professional athletics, this form of advanced therapy delivers consistent results when used regularly in a therapy regimen. With more NBA, NFL, MLB, FIFA players as well as Olympians choosing this method, fast and effective results are being noted among some of the most active and athletic people in the world.

Laser Therapy is used to reduce inflammation and dysfunction attributed to the following conditions:

  • Sciatica
  • Low Back Pain
  • Disc Issues
  • Sports Injuries
  • Sprains & Strains
  • Neck Pain
  • Tendonitis & Tendonosis
  • Foot & Ankle Conditions
  • Shoulder & Knee Injuries
  • And Many More Conditions

The Benefits Of Deep-Tissue Laser Therapy

Class IV, deep-tissue laser therapy excels with difficult-to-treat conditions.

Even in situations where manual therapy has failed and/or surgery is considered the only alternative, it can speed up recovery times and reduce or eliminate pain.

Some practitioners use lower-level class IIIa/b lasers to treat body pain/dysfunction. However, in the case of class IIIa devices, the therapeutic benefits are comparable to those of a common laser pointer. Class III/b lasers (the most widely available) do offer health benefits, but are often either too underpowered to make meaningful changes or the treatment times necessary to achieve an optimal therapeutic dose of photonic energy are simply unrealistic in many therapy sessions.

Alternative To Surgery

The cost of surgery is astounding, and insurance companies may not cover certain types of surgery depending on the nature of the condition. Laser therapy is not only fast and pain-free, it’s also affordable. Additionally, traditional surgery to treat pain requires a post-operative recovery time. Laser therapy allows you to maintain your active lifestyle between treatments. (However, please adhere to the recovery guidelines your doctor or physical therapist has outlined for your specific condition.)

Non-Invasive

While the laser cannot penetrate clothing, it passes through the skin and stimulates the layers of tissue below. This high-grade therapy laser has the ability to penetrate to structures up to 3 inches deep.

Safety and efficacy.

Deep-tissue laser therapy may be used in combination with most prescription drugs with no known contraindications. However, if you are on photosensitive medication please let me know prior to receiving therapy. In many cases, it can render surgery unnecessary. In more severe cases, it may be used as an effective pre-surgery treatment. In cases where surgery is required to treat the issue, it may be used post-surgery for pain relief and accelerated healing.

What Can You Expect From Laser Treatment?

Each laser application will take 4-9 minutes, on average, depending on your condition. Because it is non-invasive, there should be no pain or discomfort during the treatment process. In most cases, it actually feels wonderful! The laser cannot penetrate through clothing – It is applied directly over the area of pain/dysfunction. You’ll feel a slight warmth (most report this warmth to be soothing and therapeutic) as the laser is placed over your problem area.

After Your Deep Tissue Laser Therapy

After your session, the period of healing it stimulates will continue for anywhere from 6 hours to 3 days. Stimulated cellular activity continues to alleviate pain and reduce inflammation.

It may take several treatments to notice significant results, though the healing begins immediately following the first session. Thomas will establish a therapy plan specifically for your condition. Most clients report pain-relief immediately after their first session, while others report relief after 3-5 sessions.

If you have any questions about deep-tissue laser therapy, please ask. We want you to be well-informed regarding the therapy you receive.
